Hyatt Regency Hua Hin honors anniversary with cookbook
HUA HIN, Thailand (Dec. 20, 2011) — Hyatt Regency Hua Hin Resort & Spa is toasting its 10th anniversary by serving up its first cookbook.
Authentic Flavors, featuring 30 of executive chef Mitele Sbardellini's favorite, easy-to-cook Italian recipes, was unveiled Saturday, exactly a decade after the acclaimed resort debuted on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand.
Among the dishes Sbardellini chose to include in the 81-page book are Lobster Salad, Lamb Shank with Barolo Sauce and Tiramisu, all of which can be found and enjoyed at Figs, one of four singular dining venues at the hotel and the premier spot for Italian fare in Hua Hin.
"Good food is an aspect of living that makes people happy," said Sammy Carolus, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin Resort & Spa (www.hyatt.com). "We wanted to create something that would allow us to contribute to our guests' happiness long after they check out."
While the book was a labor of love for Sbardellini, its recipes are a snap to understand and carry out at home. Even the most time consuming — Lamb Shank with Barolo Sauce — takes less than an hour to prepare and cook.
Facing one of the longest stretches of beach (250 metres) and featuring the largest recreational facilities in Hua Hin, the 205-room Hyatt Regency Hua Hin Resort & Spa attracts all types of travellers.
Its stand-alone spa — The Barai (www.thebarai.com) — has won or been nominated for a range of awards, including “Spa Retreat of the Year” at the 2011 AsiaSpa Awards. In 2007, it made Travel + Leisure magazine’s “It List” and Conde Nast Traveler’s “Hot List.”
Hyatt Regency Hua Hin Resort & Spa is a member of “It’s in Hua Hin” (www.itsinhuahin.com), a destination marketing campaign launched last year to promote the world-class accommodations and activities available in and around the century-old city of Hua Hin and neighboring beach town of Cha Am, less than three hours’ south of Bangkok by car.
